eucalyptus paper series

research description

In the North of Portugal, the eucalyptus tree populates the landscape. Well-known for its specific scent, the profusion of this tree species is very dominant in the Luso ecosystem.
Together with Bruno Pasdeloup, a craftsman located in France, I developped a handmade paper from the fibers of the tree and then used it to create these sculptures. This research explores the narrative of the discarded flammable materials from the tree; leaves, nuts and bark.
